Chanukah is coming!

Check out the cool art  hanging on the clothesline in our room.  Our challenge to the kids was to find new and different ways to glue paper strips onto a dreidel shape.  It required the eye of an architect to make bridges and tunnels with paper, as well as some trial and error to know just how much glue you would need to make the strip stick.
Another type of process art resulted  in beautiful "wax catchers" to place under your menorah.  The children used Chanukah candles to make a design on paper and then painted a water color wash on top to make the design magically appear.  There were interesting discussions going on as well about why the paint did not cover the candle wax .
So many dreidels, all differently sized......can we get the 2 sides of the scale to balance?
Mastering spinning the dreidel is the best fine motor workout!
Sophia is using dreidel shaped crayons to draw.  Holding those small crayons was not as easy as the children thought!
