A Busy Week

Zero the Hero was not scared off by all the pirate activities....he came to visit and left us "Zero" kisses which are really those stickers you put around the  holes on  notebook paper.  The children had to make something, using only the stickers and some crayons and their imaginations.  We had snakes, flowers, rocket ships and many other creative ideas.
A very large felt map and our  pirate manipulatives provided so many opportunities for language development and imaginary play.
We are getting ready for the culmination of this unit, a pirate treasure hunt.  Every pirate needs a hat!  The children had to cut through 2 thicknesses of paper and draw a skull and crossbones on their hat.  Their fine motor progress since September is wonderful to see.
And of course we need a treasure chest.
Eye patches are always a fun addition.
Decorating bags in anticipation of finding a good deal of loot!
Making a parrot puppet.
Charlie W. had a great show and share!
Ready for our treasure hunt.....we could tell how excited the kids were throughout the unit, but loved seeing everyone show off their gold, stickers and spyglasses when moms and dads came to pick up Friday at 12:45.
