| On Thursday, the children cooked a "P" snack in Culinary Art. We want to thank Sophia and her family for providing the healthy ingredients to make a delicious pizza. We also want to thank Cheryl for connecting her lesson to our letter of the week and our art unit. When the children came to the kitchen, Cheryl explained to them that we would be making an "artistic" pizza. The whole wheat flour was the canvas, chopped tomatoes became the paint, pineapple and a variety of vegetables added all the vibrant color to our work of art! One of the most interesting vegetables was a white carrot. It looked like a carrot, but tasted like a radish. As you might guess, the children enjoyed all the chopping and tasting as they made their pizza. This lesson was not only fun, but the children used fine and gross motor skills , social skills, and language skills to make their healthy and artistic pizza! |
