The 100th Day of School !

On Wednesday, all the children were so excited as we had reached the 100th day of school.  Caterpillar helper Lukas led the class in counting by tens to 100 and then he put an  X on the 100 on our number grid.  Now we are counting backwards towards the last day of school!

The children have been waiting all year to meet "Zero the Hero".  Every 10th day of  school, the number zero would be in a different place in our room for the children to find.   We told them that Zero left that numeral as well as a treat in the shape of a zero.  The kids always thought that we left the zero and the treats, but on Wednesday did they get a surprise..... the "real" Zero the Hero delivered the treats!   How does he make it to every school on the 100th day???

The children had  fun counting 100 goodies to fill their bags, so a big thanks to everyone for sending in those healthy treats.  The children got a great deal of math practice as they placed a piece of food on each box in the grid!
