Snow Play And Ice Fishing!

Our snow filled sensory table is always busy.  By changing out the tools and/or "accessories", the children are continually challenged to play in different ways.  We added some small granite blocks as icebergs.  Of course the children had better ideas and soon there were igloos...we'll try and get a picture next week!
Max is tearing up some paper "snow" to put in the ice fishing bucket.  Tearing paper is a wonderful strength building activity, especially when the construction paper is even thicker than usual because it has been painted on.
The first day the kids could sit and fish, much like the Inuits do around a hole in the ice.
On the second day, we asked the  kids to stand on the bridge and fish, requiring much more balance and control.
Sometimes you have to get close to the action.
Wonder if anything is even biting!
