Jonah and the Whale ....A Yom Kippur Experience!

This week, to prepare for Yom Kippur, we read the story of Jonah and the Whale . Then we acted out the story. Please check the board outside our room as we took pictures of the children performing their version.   After performing the story, we did a project where the children learned about different kinds of whales and then painted  one of those whales.  The next step was to create an ocean with a variety of sizes and textures of paper.  Finally they added a drawing of Jonah inside the whale. Using what they had learned from the story, we asked each child to tell us something that they would like to try and do better in this New Year. Their ideas are posted on their whale art which is also outside our door.  We are very excited to see how the children's ideas reflected our goal of them becoming a community of friends.
